I know. I know. I know.
I said I was going to rest, no more hiking before I embarked on the Appalachian Trail. But, if you have been following my Blog then you know that a Presi Day trumps all and that I have been waiting all winter long for a day like this day to come. I tried to talk myself out of it but there was just no use. Before I could even process what was happening my winter hiking gear had somehow found its way out of the boxes I had packed it all into and out onto the floor! Then, it all found its way into my pack!

Who am I kidding? I knew if a day like this came I would jump on it. And I am so glad I did, despite my shoulder and hips bothering me as of late. It was an absolutely perfect day to play above treeline with just a little bit of wind to deal with in the morning while going up Monroe. After that it was calm and peaceful with the sun blazing brightly above in a completely cloudless sky. Neither my shoulder or hips really bothered me the entire day which was a huge plus. I had already bagged Washington for my winter list last year but I still needed both Monroe and Jefferson. The successful completion of this hike brought me up to #46 for my winter NH 4K list, just two peaks shy of completing the list. There really isn't much more to say so I will let the pictures say the rest. Thank you Kyle so much for accompanying me on this amazing day and thank you as well for all the other hikes you joined me on this winter.
Next time I post here it will be from somewhere on the Appalachian Trail! Yikes!
